The site for this new charter elementary school was challenging, situated as it was on a former site of forgotten light industrial in the middle of a residential neighborhood which had been growing and developing around it for years. As such, the design of the new school had to work to both announce itself as a new and welcoming educational alternative to the community, while respecting the scale and sight lines of its residential setting.
